Translation - The Jewel Discourse

This Discourse was delivered by the Buddha in the city of Vesali whose citizens appealed to the Buddha for help, being afflicted by famine, pestilenee and disturbances from evil spirits. As a mark of protection for the people of Vesali, the Buddha delivered this discourse after which the evil spirits were exorcised and the pestilence subsided.
Whatever beings are here assembled, whether terrestrial or celestial, may they all be happy!
Moreover may they attentively listen to my words!
Accordingly give good heed, all ye beings! Show your love to the human beings who, day and night, bring offerings to you. Wherefore guard them zealously.
Whatever treasure there be either here or in the world beyond, or whatever precious jewel in the precious jewel. By this truth may there be happiness!
The tranquil Sage of the Sakyas realised that Cessation, Passion-free, Immortality Supreme.
There is nought comparable with the Dhamma. Verily, in the Dhamma is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
That Sanctity praised by the Buddha Supreme is described as "concentration without interruption. There is nought like that Concentration. Verily, in the Dhamma is this precious jewel. By this truth may there be happiness!
Those Eight Individuals, praised by the virtuous, constitute four pairs. They, the worthy of offerings, the disciples of the Welcome One, - to these gifts given yield abundant fruit.
Verily, in the Sangha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
With steadfast mind, applying themselves thoroughly in the Dispensation of Gotama, exempt (from passion), they have attained to "that which should be attained", and, plunging into the Deathless, they enjoy Peace obtained without price.
Verily, in the Sangha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
Just as a firm post, sunk in the earth, cannot be shaken by the four winds; even so do I declare him to be a righteous person who thoroughly perceives the Noble Truths.
Verily, in the Sangha is the precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
Those who comprehend clearly the Noble Truths, well taught by Him of wisdom deep, do not, however exceeding heedless they may be, undergo an eighth birth.
Verily, in the Sangha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
For him with the acquisition of Insight, three conditions come to nought - namely, self-illusion, doubt, and indulgence in (wrongful) rites and ceremonies, should there be any. From the four states of misery, he is absolutely freed, and is incapable of committing the six heinous crimes.
Verily, in the Sangha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
Whatever evil deed he does, whether by deed, word or thought, he is incapable of hiding it; for it hath been said that such an act is impossible for one who has seen the Path.
Verily, in the Sangha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
Like unto the woodland groves with blossomed tree tops in the first heat of the summer season, hath the sublime doctrine, that leads to Nibbana, been taught for the Highest Good.
Verily, in the Buddha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness.
The unrivalled Excellent One, the Knower, the Giver, and the Bringer of the Excellent has expounded the excellent Doctrine.
Verily, in the Buddha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
Their past is extinct, a fresh becoming there is not, their minds are not attached to a future birth, their desires grow not - those wise ones go out even as this lamp.
Verily, in the Sangha is this precious jewel.
By this truth may there be happiness!
We beings here assembled, whether terrestrial or celestial, salute the Accomplished Buddha, honoured by gods and men. May there be happiness!
We beings here assembled, whether terrestrial or celestial, salute the Accomplished Dhamma, honoured by gods and men. May there be happiness!
We beings here assembled, whether terrestrial or celestial, salute the Accomplished Sangha, honoured by gods and men. May there be happiness!

Translation: Discourse on Blessings
Thus have I heard: On one occasion the Exalted One was dwelling at the monastery of Anathapindika, in Jeta's Grove, near Savatthi. Now when the night was far spent, a certain deity, whose surpassing splendour illuminated the entire Jeta Grove, came to the presence of the Exalted One, and, drawing near, respectfully saluted Him and stood at one side. Standing thus, he addressed the Exalted One in verse:
Many deities and men, yearning after good, have pondered on Blessings. Pray, tell me the Highest Blessing!

Not to associate with fools, to associate with the wise, and to honour those who are worthy of honour - this is the Highest Blessing.

To reside in a suitable locality, to have done meritorious actions in the past, and to set oneself in the right course - this is the Highest Blessing.

Vast-learning, perfect handicraft, a highly trained discipline, and pleasant speech
- this is the Highest Blessing.

The support of father and mother, the cherishing of wife and children, and peaceful occupations - this is the Highest Blessing.

Liberality, righteous conduct, the helping of relatives, and blameless actions
- this is the Highest Blessing.

To cease and abstain from evil, forbearance with respect to intoxicants, and steadfastness in virtue - this is the Highest Blessing.

Reverence, humility, contentment, gratitude and the opportune hearing of the Dhamma
- this is the Highest Blessing.

Patience, obedience, sight of the Samanas (Sanctified Ones), and religious discussions at due seasons - this is the Highest Blessing.

Self Control, Holy Life, perception of the Noble Truths, and the realisation of Nibbana
- this is the Highest Blessing.

He whose mind does not flutter by contact with worldly contingencies, Sorrowless, Stainless, and Secure - this is the Highest Blessing.

To them, fulfilling matters such as these, every-where invincible, in every way moving happily - these are the Highest Blessings.

Quote: Karaniya Metta Sutta (terjemahan)

Inilah yang harus dilaksanakan
oleh mereka-mereka yang tekun dalam kebaikan.
Dan telah mencapai ketenangan bathin.
Ia harus pandai, jujur, sangat jujur.
Rendah hati, lemah lembut, tiada sombong.

Merasa puas, mudah dirawat
Tiada sibuk, sederhana hidupnya
Tenang indrianya, selalu waspada
Tahu malu, tidak melekat pada keluarga

Tak berbuat kesalahan walaupun kecil
yang dapat dicela oleh para Bijaksana.
Hendaklah ia selalu berpikir:
"Semoga semua makhluk sejahtera dan damai,
semoga semua makhluk berbahagia"

Semoga semuanya berbahagia

Jangan menipu orang lain
Atau menghina siapa saja,
Janganlah karena marah dan benci
Mengharapkan orang lain mendapat celaka

Bagaikan seorang ibu mempertaruhkan nyawanya
Untuk melindungi anaknya yang tunggal
Demikianlah terhadap semua makhluk
Dipancarkannya pikiran kasih sayang tanpa batas

Hendaknya pikiran kasih sayang

THE BUDDHA'S WORDS ON LOVING KINDNESS

This is what should be done
By one who is skilled in goodness,
And who knows the path of peace:
Let them be able and upright,
Straightforward and gentle in speech.
Humble and not conceited,
Contented and easily satisfied.
Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm, and wise and skilful,
Not proud and demanding in nature.
Let them not do the slightest thing
That the wise would later reprove.
Wishing: In gladness and in safety,
May all beings be at ease.

Whatever living beings there may be;
Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,
The great or the mighty, medium, short or small,
The seen and the unseen,
Those living near and far away,
Those born and to-be-born
May all beings be at ease.

Let none deceive another,
Or despise any being in any state.
Let none through anger or ill-will
Wish harm upon another.
Even as a mother protects with her life
Her child, her only child,
So with a boundless heart
Should one cherish all living beings;
Radiating kindness over the entire world:
Spreading upwards to the skies,
And downwards to the depths;
Outwards and unbounded,
Freed from hatred and ill-will.
Whether standing or walking,
seated or lying down
Free from drowsiness,
One should sustain this recollection.
This is said to be the sublime abiding.
By not holding to fixed views,
The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision,
Being freed from all sense desires,
Is not born again into this world.

Do It Before Tomorrow Comes

If you’re mad with someone, and nobody’s there to fix the situation…You fix it .
Maybe today, that person still wants to be your friend .
And if u don’t, tomorrow can be too late .
If you’re in love with somebody ,but that person doesn’t know… tell her/him.
Maybe today, that person is also in love with you .
And if you don’t say it,tomorrow can be too late .
If you really want to kiss somebody… kiss her/him.
Maybe that person wants a kiss from you, too .
And if you don’t kiss her/him today, tomorrow can be too late .
If you still love a person that you think has forgotten you… tell her/him.
Maybe that person have always loved you.
And if you don’t tell her/him today , tomorrow can be too late.
If you need a hug of someone…ask her/him for it.
Maybe they need it more than you do.
And if you don’t ask for it today, tomorrow can be too late.
If you really have friends who you appreciate… tell them.
Maybe they appreciate you as well.
That if you don’t and they leave or go far away today , tomorrow can be too late.
If you love your parents, and never had the chance to show them…do it .
Maybe you have them there to show them how you feel.
That if you don’t and they leave today , then tomorrow can be too late.

The Greatest Pain In Life

The greatest pain in life
is not to die,
but to be ignored.
To lose the person you love so much
to another who doesn’t care at all.
To have someone you care so about so
much throw a party…
and not tell you about it.
When your favorite person on earth
neglects to invite you to his graduation.
To have people think that you don’t care.
The greatest pain in life,
is not to die,
but to be forgotten.
To be left in the dust after another’s great achievement.
To never get a call from a friend, just saying “hi”.
When you show someone your innermost thoughts
and they laugh in your face.
For friends to always be
too busy to console you
when you need someone to lift your spirits.
When it seems like the only person who cares about you,
is you.
Life is full of pain,
but does it ever get better?
Will people ever care about each other,
and make time for those who are in need?
Each of us has a part to play
in this great show we call life.
Each of us has a duty to mankind
to tell our friends we love them.
If you do not care about your friends
you will not be punished.
You will simply be ignored…
forgotten…
as you have done to others.
This poem was written by a young girl who committed suicide some years ago. Perhaps if the people surrounding her had shown a little more love, and had paid more attention to her, her death could have been prevented. Remember that when going through life, you can’t judge a sad, lonely, or suicidal person by their facial expression. You need to get to know each person you come in contact with, cherish your friendship with them, and show them that you care.

The Truth About Failure

01 Failure doesn’t mean you are a failure… …it does mean you haven’t succeeded yet.
02 Failure doesn’t mean you have accomplished nothing… …it does mean you have learned something.
03 Failure doesn’t mean you have been a fool… …it does mean you had a lot of faith.
04 Failure doesn’t mean you have been disgraced… …it does mean you were willing to try.
05 Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it… …it does mean you have to do something in a different way.
06 Failure doesn’t mean you are inferior… …it does mean you are not perfect.
07 Failure doesn’t mean you’ve wasted your life… …it does mean you’ve a reason to start afresh.
08 Failure doesn’t mean you should give up… …it does mean you should try harder.
09 Failure doesn’t mean you’ll never make it… …it does mean it will take a little longer.
10 Failure doesn’t mean God has abandoned you… …it does mean God has a better idea!

Berhentilah Mengeluh

a. Life is a gift
b. Live it…
c. Enjoy it…
d. Celebrate it…
e. And fulfill it.
13]. Cintai orang lain dengan perkataan dan perbuatanmu
14]. Cinta diciptakan tidak untuk disimpan atau disembunyikan
16]. It’s true you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone,
but it’s also true You don’t know what you’ve been missing until it arrives!!!
Jadi……..berhentilah mengeluh, hadapilah manis pahitnya hidup dengan bersyukur.

If Someone Love You

Seseorang yang menyayangi kamu,
tidak bisa memberikan alasan mengapa ia mencintaimu
Dia hanya tau, di mata dia, kamulah satu satunya.
Seseorang yang menyayangi kamu,
sebenarnya selalu membuatmu
marah / gila / jengkel / stress
Ia ingin memberikanmu suatu kejutan,
percayalah dia dapat melakukannya.
Seseorang yang menyayangi kamu,
mungkin tidak bisa mengingat kejadian / kesempatan
istimewa seperti perayaan hari ulang tahunnya,

May You Always Feel Loved

Author Unknown
May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand.
May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with optimism and courage.
Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone.
May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace.
May a kind word, a reassuring touch, a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them.
Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.
Teach love to those who know hate, and let that love embrace you as you go into the world.
May the teaching of those you admire become part of you, so that you may call upon them.
Remember, those whose lives you have touched and who have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around you.
Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is different in our own way.
What you may feel you lack in one regard may be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future.
May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.
May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself, and not be dependent on an other’s judgments of your accomplishments.
May you always feel loved.

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don’t already have
everything you desire
If you did, what would there be
to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn
Be thankful for the difficult times
During those times you grow
Be thankful for your limitations,
Because they give you opportunities for
improvement
Be thankful for each new challenge,
Because it will build your strength and character
Be thankfulfor your mistakes,
they will teach you valuable lessons
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made an effort
It’s easy to be thankful for the good things
A life of rich fulfilment comes to those
who are also thankful for the setbacks
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they will become your blessings.

One Thing to Never Forget

Your presence, is a present to the world.
You’re unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be, what you want it to be.
Take the days, just one at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles.
You’ll make it through, whatever comes along.
Within you, are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don’t put limits on yourself.
So many dreams, are waiting to be realized.
Decisions are too important, to leave to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy, than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don’t take things too seriously.
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember, that a little love goes a long way.
Remember, that a lot of love goes forever.
Remember, that friendship is a wise investment.
Life’s treasures, are people… together.
Realize, that it’s never too late.
Do ordinary things, in a extraordinary way.
Have health, hope and happiness.
Take the time, to wish upon a star.
And don’t ever forget….
For even a day….
How very special you are.

The Power Of Positive Attitude

Final Prajnanta

William Clement Stone (4 Mei 1902 - 3 September 2002), seorang pengusaha sukses dan penulis buku pengembangan diri mengatakan bahwa " There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative."

Gill Stern mengatakan bahwa "Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute." Henry Truman mengatakan bahwa "A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties."

Apakah anda setuju?

Change Your Attitude!
Tunjukkan anda mampu bekerjasama bahkan membantu atasan anda mensukseskan program kerjanya!
Scott Hamilton mengatakan bahwa "The only disability in life is a bad attitude."
